Biography

Dennis Forel, one of America’s foremost Balloon Sculptors, has been performing since the Ides of March 1975. His repertoire of over 108 different animals, have taken him to state and county fairs, amusement parks, shopping centers, and special events throughout the Western U.S., Alaska, Mexico, Japan, and the Bahamas.

 

Dennis first started making balloon animals while working at a Shakey’s Pizza Parlour.  In order to add to his growing repertoire he went to a magic shop in the local shopping center, Old Towne Mall, to see if they had a book on balloon sculpture.  While they didn’t have a book the shop owner sent him to the shopping center’s marketing director who immediately hired Dennis.

 

From there Dennis’ performing world expanded to include not only shopping centers and restaurants but amusement parks such as Busch Gardens, Los Angeles, Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland and Nagasaki Holland Village in Japan.

 

He has also performed in night clubs like the Magic Castle and the Troubadour in Hollywood, Gallagher’s and Catch a Rising Star in the San Fernando Valley, Cobb’s in San Francisco and Hennesey’s in Hermosa Beach. 

 

These days Forel specializes in performing at many local, county, and state fairs as well as a large amount of corporate and private events.

 

Along the way Dennis Co-authored a book on making animals out of balloons titled “Balloonacy-The Art of Air Sculpture” which was later turned into a video entitled “Balloonacy”

 

Dennis Forel is a member, performer and has lectured at the Academy of Magical Arts, better known as the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California.  He is a member of the Western Fairs Association and has been producing a magic show “Poof Too!” for his Odd Fellows Lodge for over twenty years.
